The Paisanos were formed in Templeton California in 2005; but were bestowed with inspiration throughout the 1970's, and into the present. It's membership is as diverse as its musical interests, which includes classic rock n' roll, blues, country and originals. The boys just want to have fun! Just check out this roster!!
Joe DiVincenzo, guitar and vocals
Joe began playing guitar at the age of 11 in Rochester, New York. He became a member of the Rick Michaels Band and Stryde, of Santa Barbara, California, in the 70’s. Formally, he received his education in music at San Francisco State University in the 1980’s, where he studied musical theory, compositon and piano. He performed at many San Francisco Bay Area venues including The Torch Club in Sacramento, Blakes in Berkeley and The Surfwood in Calistoga. He moved to Templeton and formed The Paisanos Band in 2005.
Denny Carvalho, lead singer and acoustic guitar
Denny has performed in San Luis Obispo County since the mid 70’s as both a drummer and a singer. He was with The Mighty Croon Dogs for over ten years; and has shared the stage with Boz Scaggs, Charlie Musslewhite, James Cotton, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Carey Bell, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and Canned Heat. Denny was a member of the musical cast in the movie Almost Salinas staring John Mahoney, of Frazier fame. Denny has performed on numerous radio shows and studio sessions. Denny joined The Paisanos Band in 2011.
Dave Wilson, guitar and vocals
Dave has been playing guitar for over 25 years. He was introduced to music by his dad, who played piano and fiddle. Dave grew up listening to old-time bluegrass and country music. He then detoured past “New Wave” and on to both acoustic soul and blues-based rock. His influences include Michael Hedges, Alex Di Grassi, Peppino d’Agostino, Eric Bibb, Geoff Muldar, and Kenny Sultan. Dave has taught guitar for years and founded a local chapter of Guitars In The Classroom. You can find him volunteering every other year for the biannual international classical guitar event, La Guitarra Festival. Dave joined The Paisanos Band in 2007.
Doug Blinkhorn, percussion
Doug has been playing the drums for six years. He has kept time for several music groups throughout north San Luis Obispo County; including the band “Rock Therapy”. His main drumming influences are Adam Nussbaum, Marcus Baylor, Bryan Landham, and Vinnie Colaiuta. Musically, his favorite styles are jazz, fusion, rock, and lately a lot of Latin. Doug joined The Paisanos Band in 2009.
Rockin Robin White, bass and vocals
Robin has been a professional musician for over thirty years. He has played in several local bands including "The SLO Motion Blues Band", "Stone Fusion" and "Rockin Robin". Robin has been the musical producer for "The Peggy Penny" Television show for over 10 years. He has also produced several original albums for himself and other local artists. His main influences are The Beatles, Billy Joel and Boston. Rockin Robin joined The Paisanos Band in 2011.
Stan Sine, harmonica and vocals
Stan has been a member of a number of bands, each of which has been regarded has a Top Blues band in the area. His harp playing has consistently been the driving force behind every band he has been a member. Stan received his musical training from the likes of Taj Majal and Little Walter. He has shared the stage with Junior Wells, John Mayall, Coco Montoya, Jimmy Witherspoon, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Boz Skaggs, Etta James, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Joe Lewis Walker; and many, many others. Stan joined The Paisanos Band in 2011.
